Got a New Blackberry Mobile Phone Last Week

posted on 22 February 2012

This new Blackberry phone that I am using sure is fancy and it made me feel a few inches taller just holding it. Blackberry phones are said to be the creme of the crop when it comes to business phones and it is mostly used by busy people. It hasn't been with me for a week so I am still learning all its features and getting used to the qwerty keypad. I was caught by surprised when the phone vibrated and I received a blackberry message from Tina asking me to do a bit of research on how to get site listed on google once I get home. I scoffed at the message seeing that there wasn't even a word please in it. Seriously Tina has this tendency to be so bossy and I wonder if she knows how it annoys a lot of people. I sent a reply to her message telling her I cannot do it since I am going to the province for the weekend without my laptop. She'd have to learn to do it on her own.

Found Myself Included in Helen's Blogging Buddies Group

posted on 21 February 2012

I hate it when I log in and find my inbox full of spam emails from who knows where. I have made it a habit to clean my email every day before I shut down my computer and it has become a part of my routine. When I checked my inbox earlier I was surprised to find an email thread from Helen. It appears she has included me in this group she created called Blogging Buddies and now am receiving every email from the members of the group. Someone asked how to check my website ranking in google and it got me curious. Yeah, how do you find that out? I have been blogging for a year now and there are still a lot of things I have no clue about and this is one of them. I skimmed through the names and email addresses and counted 14 people including myself and realized that I only know two people aside from Helen. I wondered how Helen got to know them, were they friends of hers from work or did they met online through blog hopping?

Facebook Is Simply a Waste of My Time

posted on 21 January 2012

When I first started using Facebook back in 2007, I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread - I was making facebook banners and really having a ball. Not many people I knew were on Facebook then, but as time went on, more and more people around me were using it as well. I thought it was really great for getting back into contact with people I hadn't spoken to in a long time. As the years have gone on however, Facebook has just degenerated into a time wasting activity that I really don't derive much value from anymore. Do I really need to look at endless photos of other people's children/cats/dogs/weddings etc? And the endless updates from people telling the world that they just ate a sandwich or went to the shops or woke up and ate breakfast, I mean who really cares? I sure don't, and yet if I log into Facebook I find myself reading everyone's updates anyway, and before I know I have wasted an hour of my time and have nothing to show for it. I'm seriously thinking of deleting my account, but I just haven't quite got around to it yet.
